Saturday 5:30-7:30pm (Intro/welcome treats/setup)
Sunday 10am-3pm (painting)
In this intermediate silk painting workshop, students will experience the full process of creating silk artworks. This class is offered as a full day and a half to cover the technical aspects of the Serti Technique, construction of the trampoline rack, and instruction in rolling and steaming processes. Create banners, wall hangings, or window valances from a 15” x 45” silk that can be used horizontally or vertically.
Prior to the workshop, it is recommended you create a design that appeals to you. on either butcher block paper or freezer paper measured at 12” x 40” and drawn with a dark marker. This will be used to transfer your design to the silk. Experienced artists are also welcome to “free hand” directly onto the silk if you choose.
Please bring your pattern, a hair dryer, and a fun enthusiastic attitude!
All other materials included free of charge.
