Silk Studio Workshop

In this introductory silk painting workshop, students will learn the Serti Technique to create a beautiful hand-made silk painting. Holiday images will be available for transfer to make the perfect Christmas gift, or bring your own image to really personalize your silk! There will be a brief drying time half way through to take a break and enjoy a snack or plan a short walk downtown.

Material kits included free of charge.

Storytelling Meets Improv

From collaborative tales to random prompted stories, this fully-facilitated program is sure to be full of fun and laughter. No writing or performance experience is required. Bring your imagination, listening skills, and willingness to go with the flow.

Facilitator: Patt (Patricia) Gilmore is a graduate of the Commercial Actor’s Studio in Los Angeles with a background in Improvisational Theater. Patt leads groups in various activities that get their brain cells firing through imaginative

Learn the basics of sewing on a machine or by hand with professional seamstress Margaret Everson . Bring the basics of the project you would like to create, and get help with each step of the process. Sewing machines available to borrow at the Arts Center while machines last.

CLAY SAFETY 101

  • Clay Safety 101 is for all new Clay Members. To access your full Clay member benefits we ask that you first take this workshop so you can enjoy open studio time safely.

  • This workshop includes a tour of the clay studio with in depth demonstrations on how to operate equipment, informs you of our clay studio procedures, and sets you up for success in our studio space.

  • We still recommend you take this workshop to know the ins and outs of how our studio operates. Every studio is different, and has its own procedures and we want all our members to be on the same page.
    We can also waiver certain individuals based on demonstrated expertise.
