Ongoing classes and meet-ups happen each week at the LCFA. Create at Open Studio Friday and stay for Coffee & Conversations at noon.  There is a new topic each week.

Watermedia/Drawing happens the second and fourth Thursday mornings. * WordPress Web Design happens second Tuesday afternoons.

Open Studio Friday

Join us every Friday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and create in our co-create space with like minded peeps! This is a combination of a project-based open studio and a come as you are and create what you want open studio. There is room for both!!!!:) Open Studio Fridays is free to Leesburg Center for the Arts members! Coffee & Convos in the Gallery

COFFEE & CONVOS is a new way to connect at the LCFA each Friday at noon. The aim is to Learn, Share, Connect. It's laid back and casual. There's a new topic each week but feel free to take an adventurous detour.

+ Gather in the gallery space where the art will inspire you.

+ Relax in the comfy chairs with a cup of The Scoop’s organic brew.

+ Meet interesting and like minded people.

+ Chat about topics relating to the arts, creativity, community and collaboration.

 

Watermedia/drawing

2nd & 4th Fridays - 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

This class will introduce a beginner student to the fundamentals of drawing and manipulating the mediums of watercolor, watercolor pencils and acrylics to empower him or her to begin developing the skills necessary to enable talent to flourish. 

This is a drop in class. The fee is paid directly to the teacher in cash or check. No credit cards accepted. Please bring proper change.

WORDPRESS WEB DESIGN

2nd Thursdays - 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Learn how to create and maintain your own FREE WordPress website for yourself, your club, or your family within a few minutes - at this meeting!. Find out how to upgrade to master all the features of WordPress, plugins, themes, and techniques. WordPress community is huge with many free resources available online.

Bring your computer or tablet with WiFi. WiFi access to the Internet will be provided in the room.

NEVER TOO LATE TO BEGIN AGAIN

13 Consecutive Sundays - 2nd & 4th Fridays - 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

BEGINS SEPTEMBER 22ND.

Designed by the seminal authority on discovery and recovering your amazing creativity, Julia Cameron. The group will meet weekly and learn how to unleash their inner creative. The class ends with a celebration of creativity opening artist reception and a month long exhibition at the LCFA gallery. Class registration is $30 per person.

 

PAINTING CLASS WITH WESLEY STOUT (SERIES) 3 CONSECUTIVE MONDAYS

Monday September 16th, 23rd & 30th - 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Painting a beautiful and lush Old Florida landscape while learning the Brush Commando Acrylics Techniques. Materials NOT Included. Wesley is a professional mural artist who created the most recent mural in Leesburg located on the corner of 14th and Center St.

EnviroArt Trail Walks
Special Program for September 2019

National Wilderness Month Thursdays @ 5:30 PM - Meet at the Park/Preserve "Fresh Air and An Artful Eye"

Join Patt Gilmore, Environmental Artist, for an after-work trail walk. (See schedule below).
The aim is to familiarize people with the nature preserves in the Leesburg area and to introduce Lake County to environmental art. The trail walks are slow meanderings where people can meet and chat, build community and learn about the elements that go into creating earth art. The program is free and open to the public. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring play clothes to work and change, then meet at the main parking area of the park/preserve. Make sure to have water and bug repellent and wear comfortable shoes. Trousers suggested. No pets allowed.
